Highpoint Advisors put on another workshop for our clients and also opened it up to the public due to how important the Social Security system is to proper financial planning. The event was May 15th at 5:30pm at the Genesee Grande Hotel and we had a good turnout of both our clients as well as some new faces from the community (thanks to multiple mentions on YNN). The workshop focused mainly on the retirement portion of the Social Security system – outlining some of the many ways that individuals can collect benefits. The SSI system is very complicated and many individuals do not know their options, so one of our strategic partners, Pete Buckley, spent about an hour explaining to the group just how the system can benefit retirees.
